Cymbidium Orchids

The Cymbidium Orchid is well known for its decorative, and long-lasting flowers. They have been cultivated for thousands of years, Confucius even described them in his writings as "King of Fragrance". The word Cymbidium actually comes from Greek kymbe, which means "Boat", describing the shape of the flowers lip.
They are quite resilient against cold weather, and can often be found decorating outdoor sprays. They're one of the best known and most used orchids.

They originate from Asia, and there are over 70 species which can cover a very wide range of beautiful colors. They are usually found growing in cooler climates at higher elevations. They need even moisture and excellent drainage in a well sized container.
At George's we feature Cymbidium Orchids in lots of our arrangements and currently have them available in many gorgeous colors. Ask a sales representative about them today!
